The Four Dimensions of Leadership™ · Lead Your Team

This isn't about football anymore. It's about trust.

Why it matters

Someone said this to me during the Denmark vs Finland match when Christian Eriksen suddenly collapsed on the field.

I honestly don't remember who said it, but it stuck with me.

Not because I care particularly much about football (sorry dad and brother), but because I'm fascinated by people and how great teams are built.

In the moment Eriksen fell to the ground, the team immediately surrounded him. Protecting him. Sheltering him. Standing together.

Nobody told them what to do.

Nobody handed them a playbook.

They simply acted.

And in that moment, I realized that trust isn't built when things go wrong. It's revealed.

Throughout my career, I've noticed the same thing at work. Some leaders build teams where people genuinely trust one another. Others don't.

As I tend to do, I became curious about why.

Key concepts

Great leaders don't leave team dynamics to chance.

They actively create the conditions that allow trust to grow.

They understand the people on their team.

They create clarity.

They facilitate difficult conversations.

They provide feedback.

They create shared experiences.

And they build rhythms that strengthen the team over time.

Because trust is rarely created through one big moment.

It's created through hundreds of small ones.
