The Four Dimensions of Leadership™ · Develop Yourself

Worse than having a problem is not knowing you have one.

Why it matters

This is something my mom used to tell me growing up.

As I entered corporate life, I realized it needed to become my North Star.

Because the biggest barrier to growth is often not the problem itself. It's not seeing it.

The leaders I admire most have something in common. They never stop developing themselves.

Key concepts

One of the practices that had the biggest impact on me was surprisingly simple. I started paying attention to my energy.

I wrote down small everyday moments.

High energy

  • Having a 1:1 with a team member who was struggling
  • Presenting to a large audience
  • Building a new framework or system
  • Helping people connect ideas and see the bigger picture

Low energy

  • Administrative tasks
  • Technical troubleshooting
  • Highly repetitive work
  • Activities that felt disconnected from people

Over time, I used AI to help me analyze my data.

Not to tell me who I was. But to help me see what I was missing.

The more data I collected, the more I understood:

  • What naturally motivates me
  • Where I create the most value
  • What environments bring out my best
  • Which leadership activities give me energy
  • Which situations consistently drain it

Energy became a lens for self-awareness.

And self-awareness became a foundation for growth.
